Whether your current issue is or unreadable characters ?
If you have downloaded a subtitle file but it still displays incorrectly, the issue lies within your media player's rendering settings. Here is how to fix it on the most popular video players. 1. VLC Media Player (PC & Mac)
Change the encoding from ANSI or UTF-16 to (or ANSI with Windows-1256 Arabic if UTF-8 fails). Click Save and replace the old file. Fix via Subtitle Edit (Advanced Software): Download and open the free open-source tool Subtitle Edit . Drag and drop your broken Arabic .srt file into the window. In the top toolbar, look for the encoding dropdown menu.
Standard subtitle files use UTF-8 encoding. Older Arabic subtitles were often saved in Windows-1256 (Arabic) encoding. Opening these files on modern media players results in random symbols, question marks, or disconnected letters.
