Logging out of a work computer and attempting to log into a home laptop before the 6-hour cooldown window resets.

A spoofer changes your PC’s reported hardware IDs to match the old binded values. This is often against the tool’s ToS and can get your license banned. Use only if the tool officially supports it.

Open your unlock tool → find the “Unbind” or “Deactivate” button. This tells the server to release the HWID lock. Then you can rebind on the new setup.

Use Macrium Reflect or Clonezilla to make a full disk image immediately after successful activation. Restore this image if hardware changes cause issues.
