Women are also redefining their roles in sacred spaces, challenging patriarchal norms. Historically, the role of a priest ( pujari ) was male-dominated. Today, women are increasingly stepping into these roles; for instance, in the Gadhkalika Temple in Ujjain, a female pujari leads all the rituals.
